Jack, may I ask ya please how do you evaluate Tito Trinidad at 170 pounds compared to Prince Badi Ajamu and Anthony Hanshaw at 175? Tito has just a 2 inch reach disadvantage but that doesn't tell the whole story as you well know - remember Tito tryin to lead with a left hook and Bernard movin to the opposite side and Winky snapping a right jab in his face? Man, I love your posts and you as a ESB member ( most don't get your incredible and refreshing sense of humour), but you should not bet on this one 4 real... Take it as a friendly remark.
roy jones is not knocking tito out in the 4th or any other round ,once he feels the power of felix he will get on his bike and lose by ud! tito just has to hurt him a little early to make roy run & thats that.
I never said that Roy can finish him with the bluff he's using ( 4 rounds and Tito is over). He's surely that 86 year old man dreamin about Pamela when watchin Baywatch in that sense LOL. But still he beat younger men like those two and we both know it has nothing to do with 5 pounds more, five pounds less... Tito would feel better if Jones could not fight for 24 rounds with younger men and had to trade to win - then he could get caught at any given time. The problem here is that I think that you are too focused on what Roy is not able to do and not with Tito is able to do at this stage... Tito can't fight at an intense pace for full three minutes rounds and if he doesn't, Roy has no pressure to fight against - lets the clock run down and steals rounds while he's doing so. Or else, you are gonna make a lot of Vcash - I really wish you would!
Obviously I'm thinking Roy wins (only rocking the avatar for this bout), although the arguments for why he loses are all valid. But here's a reason for him winning that I haven't seen yet. Roy by nature is a front runner. It's when he runs into adversity that he gets into trouble. Tarver got into his head before the first fight, and gave him physical challenges (weight, stance, speed) that Tito won't tomorrow. Glen Johnson, to put it bluntly, got all in that ass before Roy even had a chance to establish himself. Tito's natural inclination to start slowly would have been a huge handicap even if he wasn't old, inactive, and now overweight. Roy is going to have plenty of time to move, jab, get into the flow of the fight, and gain confidence tomorrow night in the early rounds. Will that lead him into taking more chances? Possibly. Can Tito, a big natural junior middleweight, catch him and get him out of there with one shot, after having taken moderate to severe damage early on? Possibly. But I don't think so. RJJ UD 12.
This ain't 94 but in the last 3 yrs Roy has looked better than Trinidud !! Who's coming off a 2nd retriement ..Both retirments came after he was shut out Hopkins and Wright ..I think the 3rd one will be a result of him getting brutally KO ed !!! I love how the Trini-idiots have these fantasies of Tito Ko'ing Roy of all people north of 160 !! I hope to revisit this topic tomorrow after a long mourning for TITO !
Too bad Felix will be ending (again) his career after a loss to Jones. I just hope Papa Trinidad throws in the towel if it gets brutal.
He is an adult and if he considers to come out of retirement to face RJJ, the least fans could do is support him, besides he took a LOT of time to train and he knows what he is getting into. Also wasn't Roy seriously hurt by KO loses against Tarver and Glenn and he kept fighting, Tito has lost once by KO and he wasn't all dead on the floor like RJJ was.
lol Tito couldn't even get past Winky's jab who's a very very light hitter. Compared to Roy's power, his punches are going to feel like bricks. Tito don't belong in LHW, escpecially if he couldn't get past Winky's jab. As for Tito's punching power, I don't think he hits hard as Tarver, and Roy took punches from him for 12 straight rounds, so there is no doubt in my mind that Roy can take whatever Tito dishes out and than land some of his own.
I initially picked Jones to potshot his way to a UD but the more I think about it I reckon Trinidad is saved further punishment by his corner somewhere around the eighth round. Tito is going to take a beating tonight. He may have two competitive rounds but otherwise he gets soundly beaten.
you get real , Tito has had 3 fight since losing to Bernard Hopkins in 2001 2 of those fight was against an over matched Charifi and a fat out of shape Mayorga, then he was embarrassed against Wright. Roy has had 9 fights since 2001 in which he is 6-3 with 2 ko wins and 2 ko losses. al-n-al Roy has been the more consistent fighter of the two and is only fighting 6 pound lighter then his last fight weigh in. Tito is 10 pound over his last fight weigh in and was a half pound over at this weigh in for the Jones fight. True Roy is not the Rjj he once was, but he's still to much for a fighter thats been out for more then 2 years.
