Going to go for Froch as he is the more proven fighter. Bute looks good but I just feel Froch would get to him one way or the other and stop him.

There is also the chance that Bute has the goods and he really is the best SWM out there but it is hard to judge. We will know more after he fights Johnson.

I would favor Froch if the fight was in Nottingham, and Bute if it was in Montreal.

Bute moves less than Dirrell, but has considerably more power.

I've always viewed this one as a 60/40 Bute/Froch chances... if damaged Taylor was able to do damage on Froch and if greenish Dirrell was able to make Carl look slow, why wouldn't Bute's combination of speed and power present huge issues to Froch?!???

I'll be honest, Froch looks to me like a very tough and stronger than average, slugger (trust me he wouldn't be a puncher as vs AA in a Bute fight). Just how tough can he be? Bute lands the left for sure. That's why I got KO/TKO around R10.

BTW, Bute loves pressure fighters... it's Carl's toughness & reach that could be difficult to effectively act upon.

Magee was touching Froch often with his straight left and Bute his a lot faster and hit stronger then Magee it could be hard for Froch to throw his jab effectivly all night long knowing he would be counter .

i see it like Drozzy 60/40 but i don't think Bute will stop Froch , i know Froch got a good chin but he have problems with fast boxer ( Direll, JT).

    Bute close UD

Bute with Froch having a puncher's chance. Bute's defense is leaky and for all intents and purposes been KO'ed before and that's why I give Froch some chance at stopping him. However, Froch leaves himself very open for counter punches (watch in particular Taylor and Dirrell) and I could see Bute exploiting that and outboxing him to a decision.

I'm not fully sold on Bute because of his level of comp. Froch is far more proven against elite comp. So my answer is Froch until proven otherwise.

I'm very confident Bute can beat Froch. I think Bute has a more chance then Froch to win the judges over, his punching tehnique is eye-pleasing(as Taylors) for them, and he's a lot more serious and experienced that Dirrell.
He has same common things with this two and Kessler who Froch had his hardest fights against.
    Those are:
    Good Punching Technique
    Good Footwork
    Good Counterpuncing
    Good Speed
    Awkward Angles (except Kessler)
    and some more:
    Good Timing
Those guys had Decent Power, he has Good Power.
Like his opponents stated more than once(Zuniga,Magee) Bute is very hard to hit flat with good power punches (most used by Froch)
Bute is also very good at exploiting flaws, and we know even tho Froch is very hard to beat, he certainly isn't flawless.
The infamous glas chin doesn't exist at Bute, he at worst has a normal chin. His chin won't crack easy.
If there's one punch that can Ko Bute then it's probably an powerful uppercut, fast enough so he can't evade.
I think Bute also has a decent chance, bigger than anybody else at 168 to put Froch down(KD)- body shot, overhand left, left uppercut to the chin(all extremly fast and accurate, right on the button)

    Great fight

i think either a body punch or uppercut turns the tide and Bute breaks him down, or he moves a lot and out manuevers for the decision

or Froch breaks him down and Bute tires like andrade (but he learned his lesson and improved)

IMO Froch isnt the best fighter, or even that good. The reason why he has been so successful was because on his

    Chin
    Heart
    stamina
    tough
    <--------------- sound like him???

I think His work rate and Out put though would be enough to beat BUTE. He wouldnt Outbox BUTE, but would inflict enough damage and wear BUTE out probably a 11th or 12th rd KO
