I agree that this will most likely be a slow paced an pretty uneventful fight. Still, I can't help being really interested in it. Two guys who are really good at what they do going at it and I want to see how it plays out.

We'll see if this more offensive minded Hopkins sticks to that plan, but my money would be on Dawson, close but clear, controversial decision.

Oh, I'm really interested, too. The difference is that I'll watch this one alone, because I don't want buddies to sit through a ****-fest and never watch fights with me again.

If Hopkins opens up, there's actually a chance he could get stopped. Dawson would love to counter him all night. My guess is Bernard is going to hack and grab. Wouldn't surprise me if this fight ends early due to a butt or elbow.

    Voted Bad Chad

    but with a disclaimer

If Chad fights a good fight and pushes the old man he will win

if he is nervous and fights a passive fight and shows too much respect for the old man he will lose like how he lost to Pascal

thats the problem with fighters vs Hopkins they show the old guy too much respect rather than push him

plus pascal was whipping him thru 5 rounds last outing before he gassed

chad isnt gonna gas like Pascal

but he doesnt have Pascals explosiveness or power

but he has fast hands and good skills and is defensive minded and maybe more defensively measured than Hopkins

I think he will move a lot make the old man use his old legs and force Hopkins to be the aggressor and it will be interesting

    I like Chads chances

Agreed. Watch this one alone or only with hard-core fans because if a casual fan watches this he probably won't be in any hurry to watch boxing again.

I'ma make sure I bump this thread this saturday night if Dawson doesn't do what your saying he's gonna do. Just remember this, Hopkins, ain't Tarver. And please don't compare Dawson to Calzaghe or Taylor because he fights nothing like either of those guys. I thought Hopkins won the fight with Joe and Joe I feel is a much better fighter than Bad Chad. But we'll see.

I don't think B-Hop can score all night with the lead right hands like he did against Tarver. Dawson is better defensively, keeps his hands high and is pretty evasive with decent head movement. Also, when attacked, Dawson has fast hands and will be able to throw more punches than B-Hop can in exchanges.

Against Pascal, B-Hop looked very good landing straight right hands and lead left hooks that Pascal literally made no effort to avoid. Rewatch Hopkins - Pascal 1 and watch the untold scoring left hooks to the body that B-Hop landed. How was he doing that?

He was doing it because not only was Pascal not countering he wasn't even making an effort to avoid the blows, he was paralyzed and seemingly awe of B-Hop.

Hopkins 115-113. Dawson doesn't punch back when he's hurt and the hudges are gonna give Old Man River every round Dawson puts that grim on his face and steps back-side or st8 back.

I don't see Hopkins lasting 12 rounds here, motivated Dawson should overwhelm Bernard. I can see body blows causing the stoppage. Also think this one might be more entertaining, at least from Dawson's side, then most anticipate.

    "Bad" Chad Dawson by TKO.

Never understood how so many picked Hopkins. It's all about styles. Dawson was a terrible style match up to Hopkins.

 Keep telling yourself that. What i saw is Dawson just stalking Hopkins and making him uncomfortable. Hopkins was running and lunged in once in a while and clinch ala Calzaghe. But that's it. Dawson was fighting smart, technical, tall, and behind that jab and letting go combinations once in a while just to let Hopkins know he means business. It would've only gotten worse for Hopkins.
