A tune-up against a name to be determined, in a place which can hold up to 40.000+ person's. Does he think is michael jackson?? He really thinks he is the sh*t isn't he? Wow what an arrogance believing that 40.000 people will buy tickets for his ****ing tune -up.
I am aware that those tickets can be sold as he has many fans, but jee what a *****.
Now if it was a mega fight against Cotto then sure, find a venue with even 80.000 spots.

imagine if he lost. im sure he would have to get knocked out and fail to get up before a dodgy 10 count

I was thinking that himself....he has name recognition for sure but hes not some kind of superstar that transcends boxing....he needs a quality opponent to sell out a stadium of that capacity....

Furthermore ive not actually considered him a 'real' fighter since 2003....since then hes just been a novelty....from barely turning up and getting gifted a decision against Sturm to crapping his pants against the old ******* then getting into bed with him to taking a year out before fighting damaged goods Mayorga...to then fighting half a fight against Mayweather....nah tbh since the whole failed singing venture hes just been a horrible wannabe celebrity moneyman...

This is just plain DLH arrogance. If hes having one last real run at boxing then he should have his tuneup in more humble surroundings a big fight that actually means something against say Cotto and then after that he should go for two options: if he wins then fight Mayweather in a blockbuster retirement bout if he loses then a retirement bout against an opponent of his choosing perhaps a gimmicky fight against Chavez Jnr

If he does this then i think he might get a bit more respect.

Don't boycott it dude. DLH is actually doing some cool ****. He is going to televise next fight on Free TV and charge as little as $10 for some seats. He said he will try and get boxing back on network TV and hopes others will follow. You see, Goldenboy might be old but he has a master plan:deal Don't you want boxing to go back to the seventies style fights when it was free to watch and several boxers had DLH's name recognition. Right now, the only way to get that recognition is to fight DLH. So its that or have boxing on TV. Get with the master plan dude:hey

Anyway, Oscar thinks he's a proffesional trying to acheive the absolute maximum in the field he has chosen to persue. If he was a surgeon looking to work at the most prestigious hospital in the world you would critisise him for removing an appendix before he removes a tumour from someones stomach?

Oscar has the right, according to the American constitution, to reap the maximum benifit from the gift God gave him. Whining about it is just ****ing whining.

I cant believe it Oscar just ****ed up 2008 for the boxing fan! we get no PBF vs Cotto. or PBF vs anyone dangerous and in their prime. Why fight in Sept Hell go for it in May. This just gives PBF an out for this year. DLH gave PBF an escape clause. This fight is great for the Hoya fans for the rest of us it just took away the best possible matchups at welterweight. Im more interested now in Judah vs Margarito and Williams vs Quintanna..... I will not watch DLH vs PBF I will not be fed this retread. Suggest those who feel the same boycott this fiasco.

Haha it's allright man. You know I haven't looked at it the way you pointed it out. It was just my first reaction and I wrote that reaction down:lol: I lost some respect for him, but if the plan you name, really is his plan then that would be great. We'll see how things will turn out!

    Peace !

No no I believe a/the reason why it's hard to make floyd-cotto is because Arum doesn't ''want'' cotto to fight floyd (yet). Was there ever an official offer from arum to floyd? If i am correct the answer is no.

Seriously guys cut ODLH some slack he saw the backlash from his purposed rematch with PBF and is trying to do good for the sport. Fighting on free HBO in May even if vs a scrub is a good ideas when was the last time he was fighting on free TV the olympics? Plus fighting in DEC in a frewell bout and supposedly to spotlight his best and up and coming fighters is a good idea. You all need to stop hating....and to those who wanna boycott c'mon you know you'll watch on free HBO staying away is like staying away from that crazy ex but you cant cuz the sex was good same with boxing its addicting and u know you'll watch
