And you and you're team have noticed that you're on the physical decline. What would you change to suit getting older? P.s I know that there are different boxing styles so mention which one suits you best and how you would change it to benefit a longer career.
Forget about speed and defense, make it physical and try to break your opponent. See Rocky VI for reference.
It would depend on what style of fighter I was. If I was a Frazier, Marciano, Tyson, etc type fighter I'd suggest retirement because that's the only style they could pull off. If I were an outside boxer like Lewis, Holmes, Ali, etc. I'd have the footwork become more calculated and raise their hands a bit more so they aren't relying as much on reflexes. For a counter puncher like Hopkins, Toney, etc just continue on as usual, just slow down the pace a bit.
I would try to stay in the best shape possible all year round, avoid big challenges and look for easy money fights, I would not retire but also not be very active so I atleast stay mentioned.
I would try and fight 1 or 2 big payday fights and call it a career. no sense In pulling a RJJ or Mosley
I'd fight guys who lack speed, to hide any decline that I've had. Then I'd sell out and fight a superstar or two for a fat paycheck, and retire happily banging Bella Gonzalez over and over whilst blocking out her voice.
