I wouldn't come close to saying boxing peaked, rather it started to live up to its potential. Now it should continue, and instead its going back down a notch again.

Your expectations are too low, or perhaps lowered from being a boxing fan for too long.

I think that boxing could have been guaranteed a strong comeback to the main pages of the mainstream sport-press in 2008 that is being undermined by a couple of big fighters selling out.

Calzaghe vs Pavlik by end of 2008 and everyone will be happy again.

well considering the possibility of not even seeing floyd this year i think that in itself makes dlh-mw somewhat of a plus.. and yes he should be fighting cotto i kno.. and apparently we get to see oscar twice so theres at least 2 big money fights, maybe not the best fights for the fans as of right now but definately fights that will contribute to gettin boxing back into the mainstream but anyone who thinks we will never see mw-cotto is crazy

    I think 08 will be great, Wlad/Iggy, Peter/Maskaev, Ding/Flores, Hopkins/Calzaghe, Pavlik/Taylor 2, Tito/Jones, all in the first half of 08.

We had Cotto/Urkal last year, so Cotto/Gomez is just a stay busy fight while the other welterweights clear up the picture a little more.

2008 is only 19 days in and there are great matchups on the horizon. This will be a great year, trust me.
