That's the word according to The Ring. In case you didn't know, Ken Hershman is Showtime's General Manager of Sports, and largely responsible for the Super Six coming together.

Um... unexpected to say at least. Ken looked satisfied working for Showtime and had large influence over programming, but I guess it was an offer he couldn't refuse.

It's cool. Competition makes everything better, can't wait to see Showtime's answer if actually happens.

Yeah dan rafael reported it as well. I actually like the move, super six was a great idea, just make it single elimination, so he brings something new to the table

I like the move a lot, I just hope Hershman doesn't attempt to bring MMA to HBO. That would be a big slap in the face to Boxing fans.

That's awesome for the entire sport of boxing. Nobody deserves it more than Ken. I hope he continues how he was doesn't corrupt now that he has all the power. Good bye to Al Haymon.

I doubt it, but if so, that would be awesome. I'm tired of seeing a guy like Berto fight once a year for 1.2 million against poor competition (although zaveck almost pulled off the upset).

Really like this. Hershman is used to working on a smaller budget and putting together competitive fights. On a per-dollar basis, Showtime has absolutely crushed HBO over recent years. Will be really fun to see what he can do with a substantially bigger budget and no one to come over the top of him. That's where I think HBO really failed, they were the biggest game in town and constantly negotiated against themselves, hopefully Hershman can use that to his advantage. "You want an HBO date, you have to take a competitive fight."

There was some talk about HBO having a new, smaller boxing show, kind of a bit like shobox. Would love to see that.

I hope Showtime gets a quality replacement for him, they are a good check on HBO and I really like their Shobox model.

This is big, big news - by the way - nothing else comes close to the influence HBO has over boxing. Really hopeful that this could build some momentum.

while you're at it Ken, bring over Bernstein and send Bang-Bang Lampley or at the very least Bob "The Sandman" Papa off to pasture.

Hopefully Hershman will bring tournaments to HBO. 154 could use some clarity.
