Depends on how Dawson beats Hopkins, Calzaghe barely beat him(or didn't look that convincing). I think Dawson will easily beat him. The fight will start close but after a few rounds Hopkins will fade away, and I'm betting that Dawson is hungry to win.
I was wondering the same:huh Its funny bc Slappy was the only fighter who looked like he was in a fight that night. :yep
Some brits seem to have an inferiority complex. There's various reasons for it. You also get it with the aussies and the scots in their attitudes towards us brits on occasion.
He'll get credit because as far as he knows he's getting a PfP fighter, but it depends on how they both look. When Hatton stopped Castillo, for instance, it was difficult to give Hatton too much credit because of how terrible Castillo looked that night. So, if Dawson is timid or Hopkins looks shot, that will affect the perception of the win. Nevertheless, Chad stands to make a lot more money just for saying he was the guy to finally retire Hopkins. He needs and boxing needs for him to win this fight.
Slappy Joe had feathers for fingers and 'punches' in a style akin to a fiood mixer. He didn't beat anyone to within an 'inch of their lives'. He might have whisked a shot to pieces Jones Jr but Hopkins had him beat and you know it.
I'd give Dawson plenty of credit.. Hopefully he does win, and starts kicking ass, just can't see it happening that way though
calzaghe gets no credit because he got his ass handed to him and got lucky with a gift decsion. if dawson beats him decisively, which has been done in 18 years, then i give him all the respect in the world. of course prime BHOP whoops prime dawson any day, but at this level, if dawson wins convincingly he beat a top calibur fighter. if it's a controversial victory like calzaghe and taylor, then congratulations for struggling with a grandpa.
