Who were the most undeserving challengers for the heavyweight championship?

That wasn't a sanctioned championship fight.

 

Probably nobody mentioned thus far.

It will be sombody who turned an exhibition into a title fight due to a sanctioning rule or who was a late substitute.

Guys like Jack Roper and Chuck Wepner do not make the cut here.

Brian London. His challenge of Ali was pathetic.I didn't see him in his title fight against Patterson. I guess he did a little bit better in that one.

 

Probably either Finnegan, the no-name fighter who Jeffries knocked out in about 55 seconds in a title defense, or Rademacher, the pro debuter Floyd Patterson gave a shot, was the most undeserving challenger of all time, I'd say.

 

London was at least six times better the fighter Palmer was; although I would concede six times better .000000000000001 does not add up to much.

An Ali fight was proposed against both Wilt Chamberlain (with 100 pts against the Knicks) and Teofilio Stevenson, the Olympic Champ like Rademacher.

Of course, if Galento had k.o.'ed Louis, then lost to the kangeroo he fought, then the "Joey" would be the champion of the world.
