My review of the two big fights...

DeGale is as overrated as I'd thought. There's no use saying that the Pole was much more experienced, that simply proves my point. DeGale is a prospect and all talk of elite level skills/talent is misplaced. He needs a new trainer and to take his career a bit slower. If his opponent had been a harder puncher tonight, DeGale would have had a second loss and a dead career.

Cleverley and Bellew put on a good fight tonight. I felt Tony won it which says two things: Nathan is not ready for Hopkins, Pascal or any of their ilk. Bellew isn't either, but he's definitely the same level as Nathan. Again, they need more seasoning before stepping up.

bellew was heavier than cleverly tonight, cruiser would be hard for bellew the men are bigger and he would small, unless he builds himself up. the cruiser division isnt too hot anyway so maybe

Clev just brought that Calzaghe stamina to nick it. For me Bellew was the better Boxer but the pace just got to him. Both fighters can improve.

If Bellew can up his fitness a notch and Cleverly clean up on his Boxing skills both can go on to bigger and better things.

They have a re-match money spinner in the bank too. :good

BOXNation should only show the Maddest fights from their archives in the interim. Cook Vs Arthur? Give me Arthur Vs Gomez FFS! :deal

I had Cleverly winning by 2 rounds but at more than one point in the fight had Bellew nicking it. Great war, great effort by both guys, would love to see a double bill of rematches with that and Groves - DeGale again.

He's been sounding punchy since Ola Afolabi knocked him out. I wish he'd retire.

I'm glad we got this fight now instead of in May. It wouldn't have been near the fight it was tonight with Bellew coming in at 3 days notice.

Favourite fight of mine that but too brutal to watch often!

Supported Gomez but still beg Arthur to get his right hand up when i watch it

Does anyone know if BoxNation will be putting up an online stream for the Hopkins v Dawson card?

Dunno, Clev's stamina and workrate might be Pascal's undoing, he definitely needs to work on his technique though.

Agree, and it seems everyone does that DeGale needs a move away from McDonnell.

From the build-up, to the fight and aftermath, what an advert for boxing Bellew-Cleverly was.

    Great stuff from both guys.
