Wow, every goddamn big fight that involves casuals has just backfired in major, horrible way. Wow, un-****ing-believable.

I'm calling it now. Pacquiao is getting DQ'd!!!! :D

WTF I don't wanna have a loss on my record because of that ****** referee.

BTW if it becomes a NC that means I get a draw... that sucks to. :-(

Nah, if it becomes a NC that means that fight doesn't get counted.

Like I told the guy who wants me to withhold settling the vBookie event...it won't be changed to a NC, guys.

I really, really, really, really, really, really, really doubt it gets changed.

    Really.

IF the referee is stupid and gives the wrong decision it means he decision must stay that way because he is almighty ?

1 If a boxer sustains an injury from a fair blow and the injury is severe enough to terminate the bout, the injured boxer shall lose by TKO.

Somebody show me where's the fair blow.

    2 Accidental Fouls

If an accidental foul causes an injury severe enough for the referee to stop the bout immediately, the bout will result in a NO DECISION if stopped before four (4) completed rounds. Four (4) rounds are complete when the bell rings signifying the end of the fourth round.
If an accidental foul causes an injury severe enough for the referee to stop the bout immediately, after four (4) rounds have occurred, the bout will result in a TECHNICAL DECISION, awarded to the boxer who is ahead on the score cards at the time the bout is stopped.
Partial or incomplete rounds will be scored. If no action has occurred, the round should be scored as an even round. This is at the discretion of the judges.

I think the TKO will stand.

A fighter can't continue due to a fluke injury, the opponent is awarded a TKO. It's just how it goes.

The alternative is for Dawson to somehow be charged with a foul, which the video evidence clearly exonerates him of. Besides, it's too late for him to be charged with a foul. That's a discretionary referee call, and it wasn't called then and there. I can't see a commission getting together and playing armchair referee and determining that he should have charged Dawson with a foul...especially after careful scrutiny of the video evidence.

If it was ruled a foul, then obviously with less than 4 rounds completed it becomes a No Contest (unless they take it the one absurd step further by calling it a flagrant foul worthy of overturning the decision to a Hopkins win by DQ...which would make me never watch boxing again, to be frank) - but I just don't see it getting there.

There was not a foul. There was a bizarre sequence that led to Hopkins breaking (unless he was faking the breaking..). When a fighter is broken in a boxing match, he is cast aside into the loser pile. Ask Jameel McCline about his tussle with SNV. It's just how it goes.

    1) deals with injuries from fair blows.

    2) deals with injuries from accidental fouls.

You're not bearing in mind that there's a third way to be injured in the ring. FROM NEITHER.

There was no fair blow, nor an accidental foul. Hopkins just suffered a fluke injury (if it is actually real...otherwise he just plain quit) - and when that happens the other boxer is awarded a TKO by default. It's basically boxing's version of a match forfeiture.

I heard there's footage, if looked at close enough, of Dawson grabbing Hopkins' legs from under him. So it could be overturned. This same guy also gave Hopkins' the first round. So I find his judgement to be a bit sus.
