I like Hopkins, but cant defend this. He just quit, because he couldnt find a way to trouble Dawson.

Don't particular disagree with anything. Maybe #5 is an overstatement, but again I wouldn't disagree. Precisely why I picked Dawson to win. Hopkins could only win by mentally exploiting him and after 30 seconds you saw that wasn't going to happen. Was an awful style matchup for Hopkins, don't have any clue why so many here picked Hopkins.

You could also flip that around to Dawson.

In 2 rounds offers a bit more offense than a 46 year old man.
Grabs Hops leg and gets a takedown.
Talks a bunch of trash and calls a legend a ***** and *****.
Starts celebrating on the turnbuckle like he pulled off some amazing achievement (Nah, you injured an old man with an illegal move).
Says what he did to Kellerman was just boxing.

I agree with the conclusion, Hopkins needs to retire. I was telling people they were crazy for having him above Martinez in the p4p rankings. His equilibrium looked off and basically he looked far slower against a faster boxer type, rather than a crude, counter-able, wild swinging type in Pascal. Pascal really ain't ****. Bad Chad is back, hopefully, and not a lethargic zombie anymore.

thats what you got, for those two rds? the only decent punch landed between the two, was that one left in the first rd by dawson.

would dawson have dominated the fight later on? maybe so, but based on those two first rds, nobody looked impressive.

I see what ur saying..No one landed anything significant!...But Chad was moving fast as hell and sharp as hell...He was getting closer and closer...What I saw is an old ass man in the ring with a young skilled lion...No one did much, but I can tell someone was about to do something bad(chad) to Bernard...I forseen an asswhoopin on the horizon!

I forseen an asswhoopin when Pascal dropped Hopkins twice in their first fight.

Dawson landed seven punches according to the stats. The fight showed us nothing.

yeah, could have happen, hop didnt show any interest in fighting dawson before the pascal loss. but as far the fight went, just had the feeling that fight ended before it started. plus hopkins usually looks like **** early in fights. the fight needs a rematch, lets see what happens, alot of mess surrounding the situation.

    WTF?

Off the top of my head I can recall -
    1. Hopkins not being able to continue against R Allen for a NC
    2. Hopkins lying on the floor for a while against A Echoles
    3. Hopkins trying to fake injury to get time out against J Calzaghe
    4. Hopkins lying on the floor pretending Jones Jnrs punch was behind the head.

Now we have a similar scenario with Dawson

I dont wanna see a rematch...Bernards is cocky and talks too much trash, and he is used to outclassing his opponents...I dont think he can mentally handle an opponent outclassing him and mismatching him...in the rematch, he would find another easy way out....I dont want the decision overturned....I really want chad to keep that belt!

In just under two rounds, DAWSON did the following:

    Threw zero significant punches.

Shove his arm, sideways, into Hopkins' throat. (A blatant foul that he was not called on.)

    Tackled Hopkins to the ground.

Bitched about how Hopkins let the fans down by quitting.
    -------------------

    Wow, very impressive indeed.

    I'm backing both of them.

Sucks for Chad that he trained hard, was fighting well and this happens, could be called a foul but 99/100 he guy just gets back up and the fight carries on.

Sucks for Hopkins, he trained hard, doesn't have long left and has to make every fight count and he goes out to a random freak injury, plus worse he gets his first ever stoppage against him. He also gets accused of faking (as every single boxer does every single time, becuase fans are idiots).

    Sucks for the fans too.

Sucks for everyone, do it again.
