and Dawson was controlling the ring better so if you can't base it off of punches landed, then you can give it to the ring general

    Dawson up 2-0

Chad Dawson was 2 rounds up, Bernard Hopkins was fouling, leaning on from the very first bell. Bernard Hopkins has wanted no part in Chad Dawson, he has never wanted any part of Chad Dawson.

Bernard Hopkins looked for a way out, and found it. He created this whole situation, he was leaning on Chad Dawson and out of frustration, Chad Dawson shoved him off.

Bernard Hopkins was a *****, Antonio Tarver, Andre Berto, Ronald Winky Wright.......have all comfirmed that he was complete *****.

I don't understand giving the first round to Hopkins, how it's even possible. :? I just don't.

He was the very definition of negative. He ran and didn't engage. Dawson landed a couple of right jabs. Hopkins lunged in and missed a few shots when he ran out of room to run. It was almost Haye-like.

Here are the live posts from people watching the fight on ESB:

(I have not edited or omitted any. This is an entire two pages worth of posts in reaction to the first round, not cherry-picked but in their entirety.)

...again, that is not selective quoting. I did not leave out any people giving the round to Hopkins. NOBODY DID, in real time.

Now, that there's been an unsatisfactory result...people are going back and revising history to say that Hopkins won, or that it was close enough to go either way (when only one or two people at the time said it was close, and neither scored it to Hopkins)

In fairness, compubox called equal punches landed and what's come out of the arena suggests something messier than what we saw. Internet posts are only worth so much (see Holyfield-Valuev).

I scored both rounds for Dawson. the 2nd round was 100 per cent a Dawson round

it was a close round. Couple of the posts you quoted state it as such.

Hopkins did sht in the first round, Dawson at least was the one that was landing jabs and being the aggressor. I don't give points just for going back and evading punches.
The second round was the same.

Dawson was 2-0 before the end.

Two, out of more than a dozen. Everyone who provided a score, had it scored for Dawson. Not a single one for B-Hop...until the next day. :think

Dawson won two Jermain Taylor-Bernard Hopkins type of rounds where one guy does nothing but move away and feint and one guy lands a jab or two and keeps it pumping out, regardless of whether or not it makes contact. There was nothing there that made me think "Dawson is dominating" or "Hopkins will get his timing down and rough him up."

And what the fuk did Hopkins land on the second round? The most he did was that push down on Dawson.
