for real man such a nice and brave kid. And the beating he took against Valero was terrible. He earned his title the hard way!

Great work by DeMarco. Feel bad for Linares though, he should have gotten on the bike those last two rounds but had too much fighter in him. DeMarco bears an uncanny resemblance to a preying mantis. Great fight.

''This seems to be one of the most fantastic boxers I've ever saw in my life''

Is why HBO needs a commentary re-vamp. Really atrocious stuff.

Yeah his reaction to being told that was kind of amusing to me too. Like "Oh, okay" as if he wasn't aware of that during the previous round.
 I would have loved if he subsequently dropped one of his "this fight's going exactly the way I expected it" after that gem.

Linares believes he's a bigger puncher than he really is, and neglets too much the body.

He relies as well too much on his feet for keeping out of reach instead of rolling with the punches and slipping. His defeat has much to do with his tank running on empty as a result.

I couldn't agree more. DeMarco's actions were very classy.

It would be nice if fighters like DeMarco got more publicity than their move controversial counterparts.

Im very happy for DeMarco. Kid never gave up and stood in there until he got the TKO win...What a great 11th round.

    Hmmm, Yes great work...

But I don't believe Linares had a choice in getting on his bycicle or not... Demarco was bring the pain and was forced into hell to try and defend himself or look like a runner by backing up and probably getting KO'd by exerting to much energy in running. I mean linares was backing up and trying to fight back but he just couldn't Demarco was to fresh where Linares was tired and bloodied.

Their commentary was pathetic. Comparing him to Oscar De La Hoya is one thing. Comparing him to Ray Robinson is another.

Thought the stoppage was bad. Linares just blocked 4 of the 5 punches and there was 5 secs on the clock in a fight where he won all but 2 rounds.

To be fair he was slipping a vast majority of the punches thrown at him before the cut got really severe. He's a fighter with potential, I like his skills.

As a Linares fan that fight was disappointing. It just culminated the impression that he'll never be back in top form. I figured with Ariza we would see a resurgence of the power and sharpness he showed in 2007 before his shoulder injury, but we never did.
