I wouldn't pay anything to see it. Vitali would just use his length to outstrike Cain and get the stoppage. Vitali has decades of boxing and kickboxing experience. Cain has only been training striking for about five years. That kind of match up makes about as much sense as Cain fighting Vitali under MMA rules, under which Klitschko would get dumped on his back within 10 seconds and raped on the ground.
Dos Santos' facial expression is hilarious, and not in a good way. Though it wouldn't actually be more authentic, it would look more authentic if they made Dos Santos look like a matador and made Velasquez look like a caged animal.
Were we watching the same ad? 1. Rogan and Goldberg saying Cain is the champ in unison at the beginning. 2. "CAIN, I Em Comen fo yu!" "Wooohohooohoo" 3. Awkward slow motion shadow boxing/bag hitting sequences. 4. Cain pounding on the cage. 5. Forcing those two to mean mug for the camera when it doesn't match their personalities at all. 6. The flames. The end looked more like a Burger King advertisement than an MMA promo. I've seen better promo videos posted on Youtube that were created by fans using Windows Movie Maker. I really hope that this isn't indicative of what we're going to get out of this supposedly ground breaking, multimillion dollar deal that Fox and the UFC inked.
I think the problem with some of the marketing that I see is that some of these ad makers are following a general formula, and not going with something specifically addressing the fighters facing each other. With Velasquez and Dos Santos, you can find tons of training and fight highlights that will be much scarier than these guys showing you their mean faces. Dos Santos and Velasquez are not scary looking guys. They're scary talented. If you want someone for that type of ad, you would do better if one of fighters was like the dude that wears the hat on this season of TUF. I didn't see anything spectacular about that guy's fight, and I haven't seen him do anything impressive while training. Still, he has the look of someone that means business. That's the kind of person you have pose for the tough guy looking mean for the camera type shots, and put a strict limit on the training footage.
Whoever did this... hire him or (if he's already hired) make him do more. Whoever did the FOX one... Fire him and then break his computer so he can't do it again.
