John Ruiz. It really doesn't get any worse. It wasn't that he had all the boxing ability of a high grade clubfighter, it was that he repeatedly used blatantly ILLEGAL tactics to "win" fights he would never have otherwise. And his connections with King allowed him to get away with it.

nah he was an over achiever who could spoil good fighters and won big fights despite not having a great punch or blinding speed he was just a fighter and got the most out of what he could do

as far as a bad champ well some paper guys who are handed a title and then lose it quickly or interims and regulars like Senchenko at 147

No what was said about Ruiz was correct the grapper's holding and hitting spoiler style is pretty much illegal and for god knows what reason King seemed to love him good riddance you boring SOB, anyhow Baldomir was a pretty terrible world champ theres been worse though I'll do some digging or are you just talking present?

of course it's hard to get knocked out when your tying up every other damn second he learned his lesson after Tua. I'll give him credit for not ducking anyone begrudgingly.

John Ruiz did the best with what he had, I give him props for that.

Sturm is no-where near the least talented world champion, he has very good boxing skills, but to me, his mentallity sucks. After the DLH fight where he lost a close controversial decision he seems to of become a Hermit, who only fights safe(ish) fights in his home country.
