Bellew vs Shumenov or Cloud

Looking at the problems Cleverley had with Mohammedi sort of makes me think Mack would be trouble for him. Yusaf has trouble with hard punchers - Berrio, Andrade, Johnson and Cloud are all very big hitters, and I really don't think Clev is on any of their levels power wise. I think I take a big punch to get Mack out of there, one that Cleverley just does not have in my humble opinion. Mack is a solid boxer with a decent defensive repertoire, he made Cloud look very poor for 5-6 rounds, which is no easy feat. I think hed frustrate Nathan in a similar way. Mohammedi's defensive ability gave Cleverley fits, and I believe the more refined, sharp, proven and overall more skilled Mack would be capable of frustrating and out boxing Cleverley in a similar fashion.

A Bellew fight is tougher to break down. It comes down to levels for me in this instance. Mack is a gatekeeper type at 175, but he has the boxing ability of a fringe world class fighter, and he's proven that in his peformances. He's quicker and sharper than Bellew, and could get in and out on him without getting caught, stealing a win. Bellew has the power to stop Mack in his tracks though.

I understand those views might be controversial. And I may be overrating Mack to a degree. But I'm not sold on Cleverley and I reckon he could be found at of he fights on a higher international level.

 

I'd tend to agree with your views on how the Mack of the Cloud fight is just a better version of the Mohammedi that Cleverly struggled badly with but I dunno, I just feel that in general that was an off night for Nathan and that it's something he will have learnt from. I've just got the impression that Mack will always be one of those fighters who just falls short in his biggest fights and though I don't class Cleverly in the same bracket as the likes of the Johnsons or Clouds at all, I think he's heading towards that level. Bellew is ever so slightly below that I feel so a fight with Mack at this stage I'd love to see; it remains to be seen though whether Frank will give him that type of test at this stage.

Put it this way I think ****** knows both Cleverly are not quite there yet and that's why I always thought the winner would get a fight with Shumenov next. He's obviously the weakest of the other champions and whilst far from a walkover for either man, he's not a huge step up in quality in the way a Dawson or Cloud would be and whoever won should feel confident of beting him IMO.

Campillo would beat both of 'em IMO.

 

People here saying they havent seen Cloud, Shumenov and Campillo, well heres some interesting things you should know.

Cloud is very highly rated but fought Glen Johnson and I had it and draw and Lederman on HBO had Johnson by one round. Cloud got a UD.

Shumenov got a gift decision the second time against Campillo.

Campillo just got a draw with Murat, Campillo got jobbed he won that fight. Cleverly stopped Murat.

People are saying Bellew and Cleverly are not world class but why are Shumenov, Cloud and Campillo are rated as world class.

I think Cleverly and Bellew at this stage can beat Campillo but in very cmpetitive fights against Cloud and Shumenov

 

The only cloud fight I have seen was against clinton woods and I dont remember him being that good, although he might have improved since then as it was quite a while ago now

 

Problem for Cleverly is that he is certainly not the finished article yet. If they push for him to fight Shumenov and he wins, then he is unified champion. that puts him in a position where he will have to fight the big big fights - the dawsons, hopkins, clouds, pascals etc. No way is he ready for that.

I really do not rate cloud. Not sure what it is but not sold on him at all.

 

Post fight, Cleverley seemed adamant that he would face Shumenov in his next bout, and he appeared to downplay suggestions that the Hopkins/Dawson winner would be next (though he didn't outright refuse it). It was clear to me that Cleverley, and probably Frank too, had Shumenov on the brain more than anything else.

 

Shumenov and Cloud would beat Bellew.

 

Too early to be talking handicap matches.

Let him fight one at a time at the moment.

 

I think Cloud is overrated. Clev and Bellew have his measure imo.

 

Theres no shame in that though mate, they both have time to build on saturdays performance and make a few quid along the way. Bellew can get another world title shot after a couple of fights.
