yes. You can usually dig them up afterwards if you give a **** but it should be a bit easier to do IMO.

 

Yep i'd back this move, Completely unrelated to the Bellew fight i noticed Ledermen after Hopkins fight say the Cali Commission are defensive now and protecting ref's from incriminating themselves. He slyly had a dig at Jim Gray's interviews in the past year.

This sorta behavior from the commissions will only alienate fans and fighters with the judges and refs get away with there awful decisions.

 

I say they should have to read their scores out and if it dont make sense then they get punched even more senseless......

Well i'd go with that only when they brought in for dubious scorecards.

 

I do not see this helping matters. I would like to see an independent representative challenging and if needed, retraining judges. Some sort of penalty system could be used, to disqualify a judge from judging, if they continue to put in poor performances after retraining, but in fairness to all, this should be done discretely.

Like they do in football. Every single game in the football league and Conference Unibond etc has an assessor that rates and marks the performance of the referees and the refs suitability for further appointments is made on this assessment and feedback from the managers of each of the teams.

They should publish photocopies of each scorecard after every fight showing how each round was scored. for transparencies sake.

 

I honestly think tranparency is needed here not more discression/secrecy, IMO they are driving a bigger wedge between the sport and the general public

I would say that puts the individual under too much pressure. If you have a crap day at work, and make a **** up, if you are normally good at you job, you can recognize this yourself, without the added embarrassment of public scrutiny.

That said, records should be kept, and if someone who suffers a demotion, wishes to challenge the decision, then the evidence can be made public.

 

I said this the other day about my teams games on a saturday and the referee marks. I don't know what they have in place in Boxing but i'd like to see..

-More public and easily accessible scorecards
-Marks out of 10 for performance in Each Fight
-A Monthly Training Day For Ref's and Judges
-Stricter Discipline for Officials.

Why the training day? well in football there referee's have a monthly training day and in boxing i feel the ref's struggle under the lights refing 2-3 fights a night. I feel if they was fitter they'd not tire as much and make poor calls in ring and out of it. Just my opinion probs will never happen.

Stricter Discipline in terms of judges and ref's being demoted to lesser fights and having to work way up. Sadly i think it's a old boys act and a small scene with small number of refs being used at top level hence O'Connor and Parris being used even after disgraceful scorecards.
