Finally rid of all my injuries and I want to focus all my free time on boxing now. My dorm is also near a great boxing gym and to make sure I dont get injured training and keep up I want to do a few weeks/month of home training to prepare myself. Right now I'm doing: -Combinations without gloves and with 16oz to get used to the weight -Push-ups these really help with upper body endurance I've noticed -Practicing wrapping my hands using a youtube video, I injured my wrist and fingers several times during muay thai classes due to bad wrapping. -Jogging to build up a good cardio Anything else I should add or will doing this for a while give me a solid base? I will start back at the beginners anyway
jog (endurance will be your BEST friend) do some intense interval cardio (if your body can handle it) do multi-step calisthenics in sets (squat thrusts, 8 count body builders) do punch burn outs wearing your gloves (just punch air until your arms burn) Nothing will give you too strong a base other than being physically fit. Even then, the mind body confusion will kick your butt anyway. Good luck! :good
I've sprained my thumbs before but that's about it. It's common to hurt your knuckles and wrists, but fingers? How did that happen?
