What you and I THINK we would have said and how we THINK we would have reacted in Merchant's place means nothing. It's called professionalism - Larry Merchant, who was on the job, was not professional and should NOT have reacted like that. It's like an employee at a store... even if a customer gets out of hand, or rude, or disrespectful, the employee is supposed to remain calm and handle the situation in a professional manner. On the other hand, Floyd was on the job, as well, and should not have acted the way he did, but that wasn't the question here.

I never said Merchant himself was a racist. He's a bigot, but not a racist. Yessah massah nossa massah ect. Im sure he loves him some Mosley.

But he appeals to racists and Floyd haters.

I'd always think the same thing, and then realize that these guys obviously weren't raised with social skills that are required in white-collar industry work world.

No. But, it's possible he may not be covering B-Hop's or Floyd's fights for awhile (if ever). He's rubbed both the wrong way on more than a few occasions. Imagine what would've happened had he covered the debacle, which was the Hopkins vs Dawson fight. Larry may speak the "truth" at times, but, he has a way of antagonizing the fighters he doesn't have an affinity for. He may have gotten an earful from both fighters Saturday night. I'm sure that's not something the fighters, Larry, or the networks want to continue happening.

No boxing is pretty much the only sport where "you don't know **** about 'insert sport'" is viewed as a legitimate comeback. Fanboys of any fighter will eat it up when said fighter says it about someone. Based on what they've said the Mayweathers are apparently the only people who know anything about boxing.
