Calzaghe started boxing aged nine, with the southpaw having 120+ fights and won four schoolboy

titles, followed by three consecutive senior British ABA titles (

) from 1991 to 1993. This made him only the second boxer in history to win at welter,

and middleweight divisions. He also beat future WBO and IBF heavyweight world champion Chris Byrd as a middleweight in 1992. Calzaghe received his only ever defeat when he boxed at amateur level when he boxed at the 1990 Welsh ABA final against Michael Smyth. Also bear in mind that Smyths dad was the ref and this loss cost him his olympic place.
Then as a pro he went 46-0 and was champion for over 10 years and also 2 weight world champion.
If Calzaghe was American he would be top 10 ATG

Super Joe has a very impressive record, the top Americans avoided him like the plague [until they had lost their titles that is], remember Hopkins agreed to fight Super Joe back in the day then found out how good he was and then asked for double the money the next day.

Super Joe Calzaghe is a legend that head to head was virtually unbeatable.

no seriously you go look up harry greb.his record is littered with fighters with records such as 2-5-1,7-5-0, 26-38-4 etc etc.
it is an absolute joke that they get credit for fighting fighters that wouldnt be sanctioned to fight today because they where comple mismatches.
after 100 fights he fought someone with a record of 1-1-0.
yet calzaghe gets slated for his oposition.
    joke

Top 10 ATG, with a cream puff resume like his? Is the volcanic ash cloud still over the UK, cause I swear you Brits have seriously clouded judgment these days.

    No, you look him up.
    1) He beat every ATG he ever faced.
    2) He was a Middleweight and beat every Heavyweight he ever faced.

His record is a who's who of that era in boxing. Stopped only twice in 300 fights, one of which in his 7th fight, and the other when he broke his arm in the ring

In fairness to AA, he was taking a huge amount of Ward's punches to the gloves. Although the jab was effective at keeping AA off him, Ward wasn't scoring a lot of those punches.

Froch was shooting straight through the middle and actually scoring with the jab.

harry greb is great no doubt but take out the **** oposition he faced who didnt belong in the ring with him and you will have a more realistic record.what would happen if calzaghe decided to fight someone with a record of 0-1-0 after a world title fight?? it wouldnt be allowed and with good reason
