MORAN Norris, injured foot and all, would handle Floyd & Pac at the same time

I'm not sure if he will, or even can. His style has never relied too much on his physical strength. Do you think his style would bother Floyd?

I think Sergio's athleticism, rather than his style is what may trouble Floyd if they fought. And if you view his speed and punching power as a package which includes phsyical strength, I think that could be a factor.

Sergio's actually a pretty versatile fighter with better ring smarts then I think he often gets credit for.

If these two fought at 154, his natural physical strength would no doubt play a factor in some regard and yes, it would bother Floyd I think. (To what extent is the real question though, and that I am not sure on).

Agreed with the highlighted......only Pacquiao has been unleaching that speed and awkward style against fighters there to be hit.

When is the last time Pacquiao faced an elusive type fighter?
Thats the thing. Mayweather's style is likely not going to allow Pacquiao to showcase his speed as the target is'nt going to be there for Pacquiao's shots to flow.

When the target is'nt there for your shots to flow, you need physical strenghth to force you way inside Mayweathers defense.
The last fighter to match Mayweather's strenghth was at lightweight vs JL Castillo.

Pacquiao has snap in his shots as a welter, but he cant be categorized as a physically strong welter, certainly not anywhere close to Mayweather's level of strenghth.

Skill, defense, strenghth.......Pacquiao in those extremely important categories falls far behind Mayweather as a Welterweight.

If Floyd and Manny were forced to fight more frequent against the caliber fighters of Norris im certain they would have lost eventually ..

What the hell are you talking about. I picked Pacquiao to dominate Mosley, and I picked him to win a decision against mollases slow Margarito.

Picked him to knockout DLH as well.

Dont know where you're getting your information.

Are you kidding me, in what fight did'nt he????

He bullied Hatton and beat him at his own game of wrestling......

......and the consensus was that he could'nt stand in front of Mosley and get away with it.

Not only did Mayweather stand in front of Mosley, he took the fight to him.

I myself did'nt think Mayweather would be able to outmuscle Mosley, but thats exactly what he did.

That's why the fight has to happen, since Mayweather has not also fought someone with the talent and supreme confidence of Pacquaio.

I think the fight will not just be about skills, but about mental toughness as well.

IMHO, Mayweather sees Pacquaio as a legitimate threat to wrest his precious zero away from him. Knocking and hurting larger guy than him? Has the easy confidence to plan a concert right after the biggest fight of his career at that time (Cotto)? Pacquaio is certainly inside Mayweather's mind.

Can't wait to see this fight. Experts are picking Mayweather, based on skills and style, but someone will be stupid to think this will be an easy night for Mayweather, Jr. Because if that's the case, he could have agreed to fight him after Cotto.

I hear everyone say that to beat Floyd you need "an inshape guy,who will come at Floyd, rough him up,and not box him,but throw a lot of punches"

What on earth do you think Hatton, Baldomir,Gatti,Corrales, Castillo,Ortiz tried to do???

These were all guys who applied pressure, who came forward, who threw lots of punches,we aggressive. And they were GOOD at it.

    Where did it get them?

    Good point.

Its easier to counter punch when you have your leverage, but its much harder to counter punch when standing still if someone is leaning on you and robbing you of your leverage, having said that, Mayweather does do a good job of holding his feet and not allowing opponents to put too much weight on him, although I take the point he's probably never fought someone as strong as Norris.

I think Terry Norris could potentially give him problems because Norris throws the kind of quick combinations that he might find difficult to find a transition from defense to offense inbetween. Plus, Norris has that take a step back, skip back and fourth type of rythm he could utilize to offset Mayweather's timing for his counters, before exploding into action with his flurries, a bit like the way he would do against Meldrick Taylor, Castro.

Mayweather would have to get Norris's respect for sure, cause Norris is just too consistent with his offense to use movement and ping him with single counters and keep him at bay.

What weight would this be at? Floyd optimum weight is not 154lbs.
