    These are special special fighters that need to be considered when asking this question.

    As for Montiel. I dont believe he is overrated at all. He is a very talented, smart fighter who has very good wins. He sets subtle traps which his opponents fall into. Nonito just nullified him.

    No way, he's very far away from that.
    You can't be the greatest in just 1 or 2 fights.
    And he's not staying in that division anymore
    so it's not gonna happen :bart

    A lot of posters saying other fighters but how many have destroyed a unified champion in two rounds? After Pac retires Nonito will take over the #1 spot than Mercito Gesta. A quarter century of domination . Let's not forget Nonitos an underrated scoring judge.

    He's not achieved nearly enough to be in the running, but he does give the majority of Bantamweights throughout history a tough evening.

    No. He has only fought twice at 118. The Montiel victory is just a good name to conquer in the division and Donaire has yet to prove in bantamweight. Now he is facing a fighter from super flyweight whose height, again, similar to Montiel and Sydorenko. I think Nonito Donaire is still measuring his capability in this division and also cautious of who he fights, could be fitting to describe him the best if we are already seeing him beating guys at 118 similar or as bigger than him.
