Where are you getting this theory of yours? I keep hearing people say this. If the champ quits, he loses. Thats how it is. If that was how it is , every champ would just pretend to twist their ankle or something everytime they feel like they may lose. Broken hand, disloacated shoulder, broken jaw.... none of those injuries are something a ref stops a fight for. Hopkins basically said, I cannot compete. Stop this fight.
The Ring loses all of its credibility with this, they've gone against the ruling to back their own fighter
Hopkins is not getting rewarded....you cant win a belt by body slamming somebody. Hopkins earned his belt, it wasnt given to him.
it was a plain foul by chad. they made the right decision. the replay showed hopkins landed on his elbow 1st before going down for good. that could of dislocated his shoulder
NC is the right call DQ would be absolute BS. Either way it's shame there'll be no rematch. B-Hop only has Dawson left....Pascal 3 would not be interesting and I doubt he'll fight Cloud (not that he wouldn't beat Cloud but lets face it Cloud has no clout).
No one said Dawson should win for body slamming Hopkins. Which isn't even what happened but whatever. Hopkins lost because he quit. This "UFC" argument people are making is smoke and mirrors. "If you don't think Hopkins was right, you are UFC fan!" :nut
I totally disagree! Although I love Dan Raphael's work, I disagree with his thoughts on the fight. Fight fans should check out what Graham Houston had to say about this fight and the proper decision, i.e, that Dawson deserves the victory. Plainly, Hopkins is a dirty fight - always has been, always will be. He started the foul by jumping on Dawson's back. Dawson simply pushed him off. Hopkins clearly fakes injury all the time. He did it again. Hopkins finally got what was coming to him. Now he's crying "unfair". Totally a sore loser.
