I'm a fan of how much he's able to report and some of the jokes he gets out of the boxers, but sometimes he likes to start **** and his personality is annoying.
He's really gone out of his way to try to promote Sergio's career. That being said he has a annoying, nasal tone of voice and his "trademark" closing remark after every segment is quite irritating.
He's a terrible announcer/speaker/interviewer but I like his personality, seems like a good guy and does his best to bring attention to the sport and give us heads the inside scoop on things so I respect him even if he sucks.
He dose what a reporter should do. He is out on the beat getting interviews. He is clearly more of a fan than a historian. As he refers to every boxer rather they are top 10 p4p or a club fighter as a "Boxing Star". He has his biases. He tends to favor boxers from Wild Card and the Garcia Boxing Acadamay.
Ellie is good. He asks really basic questions to get people to talk. He doesn't want to do the talking in his vids. Gets great coverage and seems to get on with boxers. He knows nothing about the sport it seems but thats not essential to his role.... as odd as that sounds
He comes across as a complete social ****** but he gets good opportunities so ive been a long term subscriber
:deal ^^ This. Elie seems to be able to get much better access to boxers/trainers/gyms than most other reporters.
He provides good access, good information. Not sure why people don't appreciate that. It was priceless when he asked Roger about the "angles".
He is a ball-sucking coward who represents all that sucks about boxing. Larry Merchant is a guy who asks the unpleasant questions that boxers don't want, but that fans want to hear. Example, "When will you fight ____?" Seckback never asks anything that the boxer doesn;t want to answer. That's why all boxers want to be interviewed by him.
