I knew I would come on here this morning and find a thread like this! This is a fight that makes no sense at all. If a prime Tito was a natural MW, it would be a different story, but as things stand today, Tito shouldn't go anywhere near Pavlik. I would fear for his life if he did. Not the way for a great warrior to end his career! Boo
What makes you think that Tito could compete with a massive middleweight who hits harder than him, has a reach advantage and is a great deal bigger, Tito is a WW? Because Tito beat William Joppy at MW? Man just because he was a great WW, LMW does not mean he beats a 6'2" middleweight who hits like a ****ing train :good
Pavlik would murder Trinidad. He'd back him up and make him ineffective. Trinidad doesn't fight well on the backfoot as he goes into a shell and covers up. He's always been easy to hit with the jab, and various punches up the middle. Pavlik would TKO Trinidad.
Pavlike beats Trinidad by an ugly k.o. Trinidad had mixed results as a middleweight and that was years ago. Maybe a 2001ish Tito is a very intriguing bout but not this one. If Trinidad decides to stay around, and I hope he does. Than I'd like to see him become selective about who he fights. Drop to middleweight for starters. Than look to get a jr middle like Spinks, Mayorga, Forrest or someone like that to move up. Or look to lower tier middleweights like Duddy at Madison Square Garden. Now that fight makes sense. Stay away from light heavy, super middle, and dangerous middlweights like Pavlik, Taylor, and Abraham.
Yes could be very interesting. Im sure Tito would pack more of a punch at 160. You guys tend to forget Pavlik was on his way out in the Taylor fight. Im sure Tito would land on Pavlik and it would be interesting to see what it would do since Tito is a better finisher than Taylor.
Agreed. Hopkins brings more to the table. He's certainly not one dimensional. His chin is more reliable, and he balances offense and defense as well as any fighter in the game today.
