When Lemieux lost to Rubio I could tell he lost because he was out of shape and wasn't fully prepared. Many of his fans of course denied it and cliamed Rubio got lucky. Well to those fans. Lemieux's own trainer has admitted to it. Got this from Rafeals latest notebook. Now this ain't me hating on the kid. I still like his power and potential but he needs to get his flabby body in shape. And stop fighting at Middleweight until he puts on some muscle. Lose some weight and drop down to Junior Middleweight while your still young boy.
I hate reading about this. I wish that lost would have helped David :-( he's got so much talent and it's gonna go to waste. Tyson would be very comitted to boxing when he was coming up. Rooney and Cus had him training 55 hours a week and studying boxing all the time. David must think he can win with just his power alone
Never saw you say that. Think a lot of the kid. He is still young but the way he part with Russ Anber... I have my doubt now. May still do some good but he Is far from elite in any ways and he will need to change his work ethic of he really want to go the next level.
Lemieux's body looked like **** vs Rubio. He looked like a fat light middle. You can't take a guy like Rubio lightly. You gotta be willing to fight hard the whole distance vs him. Rubio is very beatable but you can't beat him if you take him lightly.
he always look a little fat, which may speak for his training ethic. He's been doing his workouts at Sergio Martinez's place, hope it picks him up some. A trainer swap usually serves the fighter well too, though its sad to lose Anber.
The goodnews is that he's young and his attitude could change with maturity, but it also sounds like he could be another Bojado which is unfortunate. The dangers of too much glory too early.
Arreola admitted he had the same problem. Lemieux had 25 wins with 24 KO´s and most of those were in four rounds or less. His opposition wasn't good but he had power.
