The Seven Samurai isn't my favourite of Kurosawa. Ran, Rashomon, Ikiru, and Throne of Blood are my favourites. The Seven Samurai is in the same bracket as Kagemusha and Yojimbo, for me.

Who is this guy - Donaire? Ohhhhhhhh! You mean the bantamweight that makes a living taking on the small flyweights, and bantamweights. See what happens when he gets tagged by one of the big bantams, or, the feathers. Since he's so tough, fight Mickey Garcia.

By the way, I will submit an article as to why P4P is fantasy boxing. Yes! Just like football!

    PS...Never underestimate Argentinian fighters.

In terms of favorite Kurosawa movies, I rank Rashoman as my personal favorite, with Ran, Throne of Blood, and Seven Samurai not too far behind. Kurosawa's "Dreams" is a favorite of mine, too.

But that's not the question asked in this thread....

It would indeed be a monumental achievement if Narvaez were to cap his year with a victory over Donaire. If he were to do so in impressive, controversy-free fashion, he'd likely be the front runner for FOTY. The only other fighter I could see challenging him for the honor would be Brandon Rios, at this point.

As an additional note, let me just say that there's no way in hell that the durable, defensively sound Narvaez should be a 25-30-1 underdog against anyone in the division. As great as Donaire has looked, I can't think of anyone who has been more consistent throughout these past few years than the Argentine.

Narvaez is a 24 to 1 underdog on betfair...this would be up there with the biggest upsets of the year...

I've only checked betfair today and not tracked it through the week, Donaire has actually gone from 1.05 to 1.04

Would be the biggest upset since James Page lost to "Six heads" Lewis

I would give him full credit for beating Donaire but I'm not yet sure on who I am picking for fighter of the year so I have not voted on the poll

He would be the CLEAR fore-runner, and almost impossible for anyone else to catch up with in the remaining few months of 2011. There is nobody scheduled for a big enough bout who already has enough quality built up to come near him. :deal

Example: Marquez upsetting Pacquiao would be huge, but not bigger than Narvaez over Donaire - and what else would he have done? TKO1 over Likar Ramos? Big deal (and I don't even subscribe to the "fix" theory). That comes nowhere close to Narvaez's super fly defenses.

Another example: Cotto gets revenge on Margarito. OK, great - still not as good a win as Donaire...and wtf else would he have on his 2011 resume? Just Mayorga? Not enough.

Believe me, nobody comes close. You don't trust uncle IB? :D

He would certainly be one of the main contenders but it all depends on how he does it. Getting dominated for 10-11 rounds and then scoring a hail mary wouldnt be as impressive to me as if say Froch dominated Ward and KO'd him for example.

The likelyhood of this happening is low though. If he beats him I guess its more likely to come from a great display and he probably will be FOTY but until 31st December (or near enough) then I'm not going to pick my FOTY
