It's funny how Battheman shows up in every Bute thread and trys to mock him or his level of opposition. I think he is really sad cause nobody's talking about his hero , the Viking Ducker.

How many times has Bute called out the other 4 top SMW's=13

How many times have the other top 4 SMWs called him out, or even counter offered=0.

If it quacks like a duck, waddles like a duck, has feather's like a duck, swims in a pond and flies south for the winter like a duck.......I guess it's gotta be Kessler, Steiglitz, Froch or Ward.......true SMW champions.:lol::lol::lol:

Okay, so who are the names Ward that weren't "beaten up before"? Pavlik and Abraham brutalized Miranda, Calzaghe and Bute clearly beat Bika, Kessler wasn't the same after the Calzaghe loss and injuries and Froch utterly schooled Abraham. That leaves... Allan Green?

Advice: if you set a standard, apply that standard to EVERY fighter including Ward. Who beat which prime legit "unbeaten-up" fighters to justify his P4P ranking?

    Exactly...

Bute is a good fighter, but he needs that bigtime fight. The super 6 winner should face him.

Why do you keep mentioning Ward? We're talking about Bute here. Ward beat Kessler when Kessler was the no.1 fighter in the division. He beat Abraham when Abraham was top 5, and now he's fighting the no.2 guy. Ward is fighting the best guys in the division. You can't say that about Bute. I'm not saying he has to beat undefeated fighters. But he's making a living beating B level fighters who have already proven that they are not good enough to compete with the top level guys. Cloud and even Dirrell are two good fighters out there with no opponents. Kessler was out there and he got a low offer. Now Bute is fighting Johnson. Any top level fighter would get criticized for this sort of fight, why should Bute be any different?

I'm mentioning Ward because P4P ranking was mentioned, and I'm simply taking one - a SMW no less - out of those P4P rankings and apply Your argument to question his P4P legitimacy, I think that's fair, isn't it? For that matter I don't think Bute is a P4P-er just yet, but I would not call Ward one either at this point, let him beat Froch first and put a truly legit prime win behind it - and I'm expecting him to do just that. But if Bute clearly outperforms that no2 guy who struggled vs. Johnson, for the moment, until Ward-Froch, I'll rank Bute above both Ward and Froch, because he will has performances where he outperformed his competition, I think it's pretty logical. BTW I'd take Ward over Bute in a match-up, but I'm not making rankings on fantasy fights only what's already happened. Take a look at Froch-Kessler then Froch-Johnson - there isn't much of a quality difference between the two opponents, so don't make up stories how Kessler is a super win legitimizing Ward's P4P status but Johnson is utter garbage and short. There are fight videos on youtube proving you wrong.

He wasn't invited to the tournament to face them, dummy! He's waiting the tourney to end as Showtime realized it was a mistake not inviting him, and fighting what's out there in the meantime. Bika for one is not a Super 6 leftover, but if we go the leftover route, then you could say Ward only fought Calzaghe, Bute, Pavlik, Abraham, Dirrell and Froch leftovers - plus Allan Green.

Bute is not as good as his fans make out to be - not a legit top 10 P4P-er - but not as bad as the haters would like us to think. Use ANY standard you like in your argument, and I will use that standard to any SMW to show you Bute holds on his own in a 168-wise discussion. I love beating people at their own game.

then why don't you go ahead and tell everyone why your "his smw record is garbage' statement is grossly dishonest and inaccurate?

Well, Johsnon is still a bigger threat today than Pavlik would have been but I suspect you're still sad about Pavlik being on the wrong track again. That also explain why you're bashing Bute today.

Pointless thread. Showtime is taking care of business.

"Bute's management is unwilling to get him good opposition" - LOL. Bute & management are unwilling to go to 175, and they have valid reasons. STFU with the Pascals, Clouds etc.

If they offered $1.3M to Pavlik, what do you think they offered Kessler?

Of course the lowballing was evident, so Kessler logically chose to go for Stieglitz (let's say to up his negotiation power) who got floored by the guy Bute iced in his first title fight.

Scraps. Bhahaha. Bute, through Showtime, is pretty much guaranteed to fight one of Kessler / Froch / Ward in 2012. :D

You obviously haven't followed his career. At all.
