Tommy's chin was fine, it was them matchstick legs and killer sessions to make the weight that cost him, IMO.

    Great choice.

    Agreed.

    Exactly.

His chin wasn't his real problem, it was his total lack of proper fighting technique.

I don't think so - he would've also needed some semblance of defense, and the capacity to not "freeze" when under pressure.

If RJJ had a Margarito-level chin, he would still be serviceable even now. Alas...

If he had a Margarito-level chin, he would be taking prolonged beatings, instead of getting KO'ed earlier like he does, and he'd end up just like Muhammad Ali.

Hard to top this pick. He was a near flawless boxer if not for his chin.

I think Jones' stamina & efforts to make weights also played a role in some of his losses.

I don't think Ruelas' chin was really his problem. He was a bit vulnerable to early-round KDs, but his bigger issue was his (lack of) defense IMO.

I also think he was basically shot by the time of the Tszyu fight.

I've always said that Hearns + a better chin = Ray Robinson

I also think Hearns' durability issues may have been tied to how much weight he boiled down. He was capable of weighing as high as the 170s & still not looking like he had an ounce of fat on him.
