It's the first time Ive seen the incident and what can I say? Age must be truly be catching up with him if he gets injured from that... no wonder people are doubting him. I dont hate the guy but I'd love to see him get sparked out cold.
come on man...slow mo, regular mode....hopkins wasnt body slammed, didnt fall hard, his ass hit first and landed as soft as ive ever seen.....ive watched it 20 times...ive watched with different people...and they all said "you got to be kidding? hes hurt?" Prison HARD, Philly tough guy, the executioner, the bully of the last 20 years....wouldnt you expect a little more toughness from such a "cake" fall? ive fallen off a ladder 8 foot high on hard wood floor...and didnt roll around like i had been shot....nothing was broke, and i wasnt wincing after 20 minutes still .....it was pathetic how he acted....he is doing his legacy a disservice no different than jones is by getting knocked out all the time

Why do people hate Bernard Hopkins?? Answer is easy No one can LEGITIMATELY beat him even at 46 yrs old. Taylor never LEGITIMATELY beat him, Sure as hell Slappy Calzaghe didnt, Pascal did not deserve that draw decision either. Name me one time that Hopkins ever got the decision in a close fight?? NEVER. Nard went into this fight knowing the cards were stacked against him. What happened was a blatent foul by Dawson, a blown call by the referee claiming NO FOUL OCCURED, then referee Pat Russell as good as accuses Nard of faking injury. The MRI shows he was indeed injured & was unable to continue as a result of a blatent foul by Dawson which Pat Russell chose to ignore. If Pat Russell is any kind of man, like an ex marine should be,he should admit he screwed up and apologise to Bernard Hopkins. At the very least this should have been called a no contest with hopkins retaining the title Please do not expect the crooked as a corkscrew CSAC to do the right thing either. All i can think is either Russell was paid off, he had a big wager himself on Dawson or he is incompetant. Either way he should join Joe Cortez, Richard Steele & Marlon B Wright in the referees Hall of Shame. Do the right thing and give the belt tpo its rightful owner Bernard Hopkins
You could make that case for a number of defensive fighters, and the reason being, that defensive fighters play the percentages, they either lose by small margins, or they win by small margins. Even in fights where they numerically win more rounds, there's generally not much action in the rounds.
He makes a good point. If Hopkins had landed on the elbow FIRST, then he might have a case for significantly injuring himself, but he rolled onto the elbow, which must of cushioned the impact to the elbow.
Hopkins is a dirty fighter, extremely dirty. Now the biggest problem is, that he complains A LOT when the slightest dirt comes his way, and is a total actor. I can't be a fan of that. There are limits, and BHop is too much. If he wasn't so dirty, he also wouldn't win as much or as dominant.
The reason I hate hopkins is because he has always pulled roughhouse bull**** tactics and it finally caught up with him. The shitty part is now he gets his belt back but doesn't have to fight for god knows how long. They should have given the belt to dawson and made that punk fight back. There was no body slam from dawson and BHOP was not fakiing his injury, he was hurt thats why he was complaining to the ref looking for dawson to get DQ'd
