Lost this one.A couple of people told me they thought I won so I guess it was a close fight. It sure was fun. I got gassed extremely quickly. Coaches are blaming my 10 lb weight cut in one week, but I felt fine before the match. Anyways, any advice on what I should do next time if we were to fight again would be appreciated. [yt]utXN1uKBXVk[/yt] I'm the red corner. And to my opponent if you see this, good job bro.
1st one is in the related videos, titled "Match." This is the 165 lbs class. After my first fight, **** happened, I got depressed and gained a whole lot of weight (1st fight, I was 168 lbs). Unexpectedly, my coach signed me up for this fight and so I got down to business. Was my fault and I learned from it.
You guys were working, certainly, but, you know, making the other guy miss is not against the rules. You used to get points for it, too. Shorten up your punches, target them more. You waste a lot of energy flailing away and don't accomplish much. Punch the body; you don't have to invest a lot there to get results. One good shot to the ribs will make him bring those arms down and in, and then he won't be in the way of the punches you were winging at his head. Also, one short shot in the solar plexus will take his wind for a while, and that shot was there, given the way he was using his arms. Work angles instead on straight lines. Also, when you have him on the ropes, step to the side to punch; a lot of times you let him spin out when you could've worked him into the corner by changing you angle initially.
