Gary russel jr vs Nonito Donaire

Donaire doesn't look good against boxers. Russel's chin hasn't been tested though...

 

Could be ugly, for Russell. Donaire would definitely hit him more and harder than he's ever been hit before.

It would be close but at this point I have to go with Donaire who has faced the stiffer competition. After 2-3 more fights for Russel, I see a very close competitive match up with Russel winnng by TKO.

 

Donaire by default until we see Russel against better comp.

As Gary is a local dmv fighter (capito heights, md) I am defintely keeping an eye on his progress. I do feel that right now wouldn't be the move to put him in there w/ Donaire. But give him a few fights and the outcome could be completely different.

Let the kid develop first! A few fights on HBO and people are ready to throw him to the wolves, Donaire would be too much too soon for him.

 

C'mon man, I admire Russell but let him fight a credible opponent first. I honestly see Donaire icing Russell, that is if he can carry his speed and power to featherweight.
People are so quick to write Donaire off after one bad night performance. atsch
