Floyd's 50% wouldn't necessarily be equal to Pac's 50% anyway, in the sense that Floyd would keep more of the profits. So, it's actually Pac who needs the bigger split in order to make similar money, in that scenario. Floyd would probably make the same or possibly less money than he would normally make, getting an 80/20 split with the likes Ortiz, Mosley, etc. With that said, money may not be the (greatest) motivation (for Floyd) to make that fight, at this point.

 

When people negotiate, they only look at the gross figures that each party will be getting. It is up to each party to manage their expenses to leave as much net revenue as they can. 50-50 is good enough, regardless of how much Floyd and Pac will actually take home.

Considering the recent concerns Pac has had about what he is, actually, taking home from his fights, that may not be the case, at this point.

What's all the arguing? lol. 1.15 if true is a very good number for the high price of the PPV. How/why are people comparing this to Pac/Mosley? Why wouldn't you compare the two fighters against the same fighter, since they were only a year apart. Ortiz has never been on PPV. Put things in perspective.

Yes...of course it is up to each of them. But, if Manny is the so-called top draw in the sport, why would he want to get paid less than the so-called second best draw in the sport? 50/50 is a facade if he knows he is making less. I wouldn't underestimate either fighter's ego, when it comes to money. Evidently, Manny has awakened to his own worth. Hence, the move to bring VisionQwest in to investigate (although that didn't last too long).
