Rios is more talented IMO but Froch has the inner toughness of an entire ****ing army. The guy is incredible!

I think Froch is a bit more versatile, but that is definitely aided by his physically attributes. He can stand in there and slug it out with you, or he can box at range

Froch's defense is better, so Froch.

How many pure boxers are out there, however?

Of the two, Rios has more natural ability but Froch is a better (note-- not great, merely better) tactician.

Interestingly, I think current amateur star Vasyl Lomachenko would beat the **** out of and stop Rios right now.

Froch is a truly world class fighter. I'm not sure what Rios is yet.

I give the edge to Cobra Froch without question has a better defence than that of Rio's. But both are true warriors with heart.

Why would you compare these two?

In any case Froch was an accomplished amateur, good strong jab, beautiful combination puncher when he chooses to be (watch the Pascal & Johnson fight). Decent footwork also.

Although Froch is akward in his approach he is far more technically sound than Rios...then again that is to be somewhat expected Rios is still a young fighter

Froch, people have said that his knockouts have dried up now he's at a world class level, but he's fighting differently. A few years back Froch was taking 2 to land one, he was brawling in his fights rather than boxing. He knew damn well that his chin is solid and he'd get you before you got him. The Kessler fight made him realise he needed a plan B.

He's always had good boxing skills, as mentioned aided by his physical qualities, length etc. He was one of our top amatuers along with David Haye, there's much more to the amatuer circuit than an Olympic medal. (I think he'd of got one of those too) Now he fights from range, which against guys like Abraham and Johnson is the right thing to do, because they are both essentially close range bangers.

Against Ward I think we'll see Froch try to box from range, but then revert back to his brawling game.

Rios is yet to show me any kind of natrual boxing ability, looks like a tough kid who's found something he loves.
