Alex is no idiot of course he knows Guzman is a great fighter. I dont reckon he'll win but I'll certainly be there cheering hiom on regardless
I will be doing a highland jig if Frank Warren gets this fight in Glasgow! I wouldnt miss that one for the world, it would be doubly sweet as I would have the chance to see AAA break Guzman in half in person:smoke Maybe I will give Guzman a sympathetic pat on the back when his hunched defeated figure is leaving the ring, but I will have a smug smile on my big scottish kisser as I do so Lets keep our fingers crossed mate that this one comes off, & in Glasgow, but hopefully anywhere but that Braehead arena... Its a great place for boxing but an absolute **** to get to & even worse trying to get home from the place!
Guzman is grossly overrated on this site. Hes good but i don't think AAA is without hope, especially if he gets the fight in Scotland with a large vocal support behind him. That being said i still favour Guzman to take the victory...probably on a close but clear points decision.
More chance of Newcastle winning the premiership this season than Arthur beating Guzman. I'll show my arse in the setanta studio if he does.
Lol Indeed ! Dont sweat it Dunky if it is at Braehead (and chances are it will be ) you can crash at my hoose. I play Ice Hockey at braehead and can do the city centre to Braehead run in no time at all. I hope you're right Alex is good enough to be fighting this guy but I see Guzman being a wee bit too cute for him , but then Alex has the size and strength , 70-30 Guzman imo ( that said I do agree with the comment the arthur has wasted a bit of time, he ( and similarly Froch ) should have achieved more by now !
Good this fight finally appears to be happening. Hope Warren is successful in getting home advantage for Arthur.
If he wins the purse bid is this one not being set up for Edinburgh castle? that would be a great place to have it. *edit now I've actually read the story
I was shocked to read that Alex has only just watched Guzman on tape. Must have been a bit of a rude awakening from his dreams of being a 3-weight world champ. I'm afraid this is a mismatch. AAA's European level at best. I wouldn't be at all surprised if this fight doesn't take place for whatever reason. In fact, I hope it doesn't, as I like Alex and don't want to see him totally embarassed. By the way, good to see you here, Terry. What's a nice guy like you doing in a place like this?
He hasnt half wasted some time, it seems like many moons ago when AAA was just bursting onto the scene and whilst he has had a decent career, he could have achieved more in my opinion and certainly in quicker time than he has. It took him too long to get back into things after the Gomez defeat and all the changing of trainers didnt help. Saying that i really hope they win the purse bid and we get another big night of boxing in Scotland as i miss the braehead nights out to watch Harrison, but like Dunky said it was a **** ot get out of.
