Nishioka beats him in March, but there's no shame in that as the Jap is a great fighter IMO.

forget the power...if he can carry his speed, no one can touch him at 126...he is a counter puncher...his power comes from technique not brute strength.....

i think he'd be more than competitive at Super Featherweight... his frame can easily compete at 130... definitely his power would taper off a bit as he goes up, but i think it'll still be felt, like Pacquiao's. Pac's not KO'ing out guys at welterweight, but plenty of pop to still flash KD some and get late stoppages vs a less resilient opponent... I think Donaire would be a bit stronger than that at 126/130 with his ridiculous left hook...

when you can accelerate your punch so hard as to break in someone's face, then you know you got god-like punching power... yeah, he's got plenty to give

i dont know what you thinking man.... his frame could easily carry him to Lightweight if he kept building up mass... he's very very lean for his heighth - he wouldnt be physically dominant anymore but he'd still be highly competitive...

Gamboa won´t stay there for another year until Donaire arrives anyway and lazy fat face Juanma possibly gets retired by jouneyman Salido when they rematch.. i´d rather want Donaire to fight Garcia

He'll do fine, IMO. He won't beat everyone there, but he'll be fighting over his best weight and 126 might be the most talented division in the sport right now, and he'll still hold his own.

Is his defense really considered bad or not good? I dont think its bad and he doesnt need to have super KO power because he has solid boxing skills and he can win UD's

We've been spoiled over the last decade by the guys in the 126 division and now because someone isnt on the level of Morales/MAB/JMM/Pac they are ****

This is a great thread to bump in a couple years when he wins a title at 135.

Who knows if those guys will be at 126 if/when Donaire makes his way up there. (Arum is talking about Gamboa-Rios for next year.) There's plenty of good competition at 122 - and who knows, maybe the winner of Mares-Agbeko becomes a viable option if they move up to JFW.

Gamboa will sweep the floor with Donaire and any other fighter at 126.

Nonito is one of the purist boxer today with speed and power.. You'll eat crow when he cleans out the division.
