I think it flopped so bad that Jones wasn't paid at all.

I can't believe you're arguing this deserved to be on PPV. Oh wait, yes I can. Because you're an idiot.

At any rate, I'll tell you why this was put on PPV in the first place. Remember Hopkins kicked up a stink after the Jones fight at GBP and threatened to leave them? No doubt because they told him after the Jones fight the numbers just weren't there to rationalize a PPV event. So, to appease him, and knowing full well he has NO FANBASE willing to pay for this event, they stacked the undercard as best they could without adding to margins, and it still ended up being a catastrophic failure.

As long as we have guys like Bald_Head and Royal T-Bagger, who continue to blindly purchase these pathetic cards, the promoters will gladly keep pumping them out. They're part of what's fundamentally flawed with boxing right now.

Trust me anybody paying that kind of money does not wait until after the main event starts to order. Usually order before the first fight starts.

I'm just saying that those who payed for the PPV got ripped off, the fight could have at least ended in a more decisive decision and the those who payed for it could have at least gotten their money's worth.

That just goes to show the public does not want to see 2 African Americans fight on the main event. These just is no fireworks and if they want to see acting the redbox down the street can provide that for 1 dollar.

This isn't about race. Tyson/Holyfield certainly didn't lack for interest, nor Mayweather/Mosley. Plus, Kessler/Calzaghe did some of the worst ratings in HBO history.

This is about no one knowing who the **** Dawson is, and everyone knowing but not really caring to watch Hopkins.

There's no way a rematch is in order.

Chad doesn't have a fan base, and unless he turns it around with some rousing performances against Pascal/Cloud, that won't change. I think everyone knew these guys couldn't draw flies to this **** fight.

This number speaks to the incompetence of the decision makers who put this fight on PPV.

It's never a good look for the sport when a marquee fighter does such a poopy buy-rate. Couple the poor figures with the controversy of how the fight ended, it's a terrible all around circumstance for boxing.
