What is the worst refereeing you have seen in a bocing ring

    People keep mentioning Bute/Andrade, but Andrade was not staying in the neutral corner. Also, Bute was up within 10 real seconds, so the long count didn't effect anything. It is important that fighters stay in the neutral corner, as if they don't they can be standing in front of the boxer who just got off the canvas and slam him with a punch the second the ref calls the fight back on... It really wasn't as scandalous as some like to make it seem.

    On the other hand, Ottke Vs. Reid was one of the worst officiated matches of all time. The best example of what a protected fighter Ottke was...

    There can be no doubt, the Ottke/Reid fight was pure injustice. That ref shouldn't have just been fired, he should have been executed.

    For consistantly getting big decisions wrong and still getting big fights it has to be Joe Cortez.

    He then had Kessler vs Froch very wide for Kessler. Tilman , is just a hometown ref/judge.

    Alfredo Garcia Perez in Danny Williams vs. Konstantin Airich, and it's not even close! The refs in Coggi-Gonzales and Ottke-Reid were horrible too, but Perez took things to another level.

    And just because he hasn't been mentioned, Laurence Cole has had some real doozies. Like telline JMM he could quit because he was up on the cards and it would go to a decision. Or pretty much blowing every call in John-Juarez I while manhandling the fighters for no good reason.

    Taylor was looking over Steele's shoulder, not responding to questions "You okay, Taylor?" Whose to say one punch more wouldn't have left him seriously injured if Steele let it go on????? Steele was bang on.

    As regards the time left, Steele's a ref, not a timekeeper....and also, Taylor was taking some big punishment running up to the last round.

    Worse thing ive ever seen it was a robbery if their ever was one in boxing.

    cotto vs foreman was awful to as was Michael Sprott vs Alexander

    Mercante Jr. in Cotto v Foreman. The worst of the worst. Ego-maniac who thinks he's the show, not the boxers. Cortez in Mayweather v Ortiz was pretty damn clueless, but Marcante Jr. is on a whole other level of awfulness.

    I forget about that fight it just seemed like all of Ottke are kinda terrible

    refereed. I guess that one was the worst of the bunch thought
