Just how good would've Ediwn Valero have been, and how well would he have competed with the big boys of the 140 pound division at the time.

He would have KO'd everyone he ever stepped in the ring with. He would have went on to knock out Wlad Klitschko and become the Undisputed Heavyweight champion, claiming the lineal title in every division leading up to it.

Well, this is what some people think would have happened...mainly because he died with a perfect record. In truth, JMM beats him at 135lbs, never mind the guys at 140lbs.

The spectacular win over DeMarco looks pretty good. That's by no means the top at 135, though.

I never thought he was all that great but thats obviously just a matter of opinion. Most guys who rely on power will hit a wall eventually. Someone will take your shots and be better at everything else. I don't think he was a fundamentally sound fighter.

I really wanted to see him vs Pac at 135/140, it was being talked about at the time too! Shame.

That was just to hype Valero. His best wins were Mosquera and Demarco. No promoter would have ruined a prospect like Valero by having him fight Pac.

The DeMarco fight showed he was more than just a power puncher, he was very slick and elusive. Valero was also a beast in the gym, especially in sparring. I think he would have cleaned out 135 and would have been a major problem for most at 140.

I'd like to have seen him against Katsidis. I really don't think he would have beaten guys like Marquez.

Valero showed he could take a shot and still remain focused while being a bloody mess, in the DeMarco fight. But the biggest thing he demonstrated was that he was more than a heavy handed slugger, the kid showed he had timing and some skill. who knows how good he would of been buut he would of been a force.

If you think Valero was only a puncher watch them footage of him sparring in the gym. He was a skilled boxer too.
If he hadn't of been such a idiot outside the ring could have beaten just about anyone his size.
