Assume Bute KO's Johnson by the end of the 6th. How much credit does he get from you?

Johnson out via vicious body punches in the first half of the fight. I'm personally going with a Bute KO/TKO 10-11 (1st time- said TKO10 to be exact), and would be interested in knowing how the Ward and Froch fans would -yes that's a big would- change their view of Bute as an opponent for Ward/Froch, if at all.

    Today's interview:

-He's fought the best in the world. I took him seriously (e.g. in camp), just as I do for every other fight.

-Our strategy was obviously based on some things (we) noticed in all the sparring I did with Johnson. Stéphan is the best in that regard, in North America that is. He notices everything.

Larouche: Johnson isn't a complicated guy, we know he's gonna try to chase Lucian during the first couple of rounds. We shouldn't take anything for granted as far as the rest (of the fight) goes. Johnson has this great ability to have people think there's hope until the very end.

-Many fighters came here and talked a lot. I myself prefer to do the talking in the ring. We'll see who's right!

-I know this is an important milestone in my career. A (spectacular?) win over Johnson will make me elite. The next day, everyone in the boxing world will talk about me. (and here he actually says "will talk about nobody other than me")

Bute would get a bunch of credit from me but basically none from a signifigant percentage of ESB denizens.

Stopping Johnson is not like going the distance with Allan Greene.

    Cough, cough Andre Ward!!!

you know what happens when you assume?
    he aint knocking him out
but here are the facts...johnson is nearly 43 years old
and when bute beats him, he will get credit for giving johnson his 16th loss....

    Fixed. :D

How many power punches did Johnson land on Froch? How many overhand rights do you think will land on Bute's jaw or temple Sat night?

Thanks very much that's exactly what I wanted to hear from you. Seriously that was the aim here.

"Not good for Bute, but good tough win in an S6 semi for Froch" anyone? :think

Johnson still has a solid chin so it's reasonable to give him credit.

    Same.

Of course, people don't give him much credit for knocking out 'iron jawed' Librado Andrade either. I know he hasn't fought murderer's row, but he hasn't fought bums either, and it's a little impressive that all but one of his defenses ended with him knocking the other guy out. None of those BS mercy stoppages either - even in the TKOs, the other guy was OUT.

If he does KO Johnson I'll give him credit. Fighting credible opposition is all we can ask from a fighter, Johnson is credible, there for I'll give Bute credit.

    If it's a BS stoppage : none.

If it's a proper KO or TKO : tons.
