You can clearly see that flickering snap at the end of his punch at 4:05 in this video, in the last punch he threw that missed Hatton:

His incoming fist accelerated in a brief burst of speed in the last few inches. This might account for that extra whack in his punch.

Pacquiao isn't heavy handed but he bruises up Mosley's face barely touching him, that made a lot of sense.

He tasted Pacquiao's power and wanted nothing to do with it, he ran because he knew he would get knocked out.

baldo was there to be hit though. it was floyd's decision not to throw more than one punch at a time and become too cautious.

 

But Floyd still outboxed him easy even though it was a boring performance. I'm responding to those that say Mosley created the game plan to beat Pacquiao. He was easily outboxed by Pacquiao also. Being outboxed doesn't mean you created the game plan to beat anybody.

 

i get your point. difference is just that floyd could have very well stopped baldo if he wanted to. baldo was just in front of him. whereas shane was completely in retreat mode.

 

And being in retreat mode out of both fighters range doesn't win fights nor is it a good gameplan to beat anybody.

 

He wasn't saying that Pacquiao doesn't hit hard. He was saying that he wasn't "heavy handed" in the traditional sense of the term, which should be obvious as he is the least "heavy" guy fighting at WW. Pacquiao simply has a superior punching technique which, combined with great accuracy, tends to shock a lot of his opponents because of how small he appears.

 

I like that about Pac. Even when you watch him at the lower weight classes, like when he fought Marquez/Barrera/Morales, you can see how explosive he is. He doesn't throw clubbing, mauling punches like a Maidana type...he throws shocking, sharp punches that send the opponent reeling. I also like this point:
