I thought Mark Breyland was a no-miss and Shawn O"Sullivan also I felt Willie Dewitt was had the raw power if trained wisely also Nick Wells National Champion who KO'd Holmes 2 times in the finals...none of these guys had the right fit in training and mangement....SHAME...also Tony Ayala and Ike Ibeabuchi looked like the would make there mark but imploded

Hide hasn't really disappointed in my opinion. He's not an ATG or anything but he's had a respectable career that isn't nearly over yet.

I was sure as a kid that he'd win the title.

defineatly mark breland, he looked amazing when he battered lloyd honeyghan , scarily hard .
gerald mclellan could have become a legend, up there with the best.
i remember michael grant was massively hyped here and in america, alot of people thought he would beat lewis, instead he looked shocking.
tyrell biggs was the same, until tyson destroyed him.
and over here mcguigan is a big star but everyone thought he'd do better.

By tucked, I mean that it was tucked safely behind his guard in the correct position, you rarely caught him with his chin hanging or his guard dropped. You pointed this out as if it was a flaw, when in reality it was textbook stuff. I don't know where you were coming from.

    Michael Grant.
Yeah, I know...I didn't think he was the finished article, but I did see improvements in each fight. Then, he just kinda reached his limit of development and struck the glass ceiling, hard. He deserves much better these days than being a punchline.

Tommy Morrison, another one. You always wonder about when the chin's going to be tested but he looked so good in other areas that you hoped that would be strong too. Ultimately it wasn't, and that was what cost him a better career.

David Tua. Despite some issues with inactivity in the face of good boxing, he kept on rolling over opponents and you felt with that chin and that power he would have a wonderful chance of being a heavyweight champ. Instead, he just could never cut it against the best boxers, and suffering from bad timing, bad conditioning and even worse management.

Well, he's gone unbeaten his entire career by anyone below cruiserweights sans a bad luck headbutt that caused a disgusting cut.

Really, not that bad at all. And he's still fighting impressively at an advanced age.

How does this thread define "superstar"?
A lot of the names on here are guys I would call superstars.
Multi-weight division and unified champions are on a list of guys that "DIDN'T" make it???
    It doesn't make sense.

I think of guys like Bojado, Guinn, Reid or Angel Vasquez. Guys that looked to have everything necessary to become great, and just didn't for whatever reasons.
Not guys that became multi and unified champions. Camacho, McGirt, Nunn etc.

Joan Guzman. It annoys how much natural talent has been wasted there
