    Cortez really hurt his career with the hatton/floyd fight lol. Not like it mattered but in a sense thats the point, a ref shouldn't be a ****** regardless of the foreshadowed outcome. He was awful in that fight no doubt about it.

    The article reads and JMM is saying that he thought that referee
    Joe Cortez did a poor job in his fight with Manny Pacquiao.

    .....but its not just the Pacquiao fight, he's felt that Cortez who has refereed other fights he's been in, for some reason has it in for him.
    .....in his fight with Freddie Norwood, he did a poor job and called a push from Freddie Norwood that was a obvious to everyone, a knockdown.

    If Referee Joe Cortez is again chosen, JMM will protest and ask the commision to appoint someone else!


    Personally, I think JMM will have a good case to get the ref changed if indeed Cortez is appointed. The commision can go back and look at the Norwood fight and determine if indeed the knockdown called was an obvious push......and you add to that, that Cortez did not deduct points from Manny Pacquiao when he hit JMM when he was down, and JMM has a solid case against ref Cortez being appointed.

    Pacquiao didn't deserve to have a point deducted

    that being said i agree Cortez is a shitty ref.


    Also Marquez has absolutely zero class and bitches and whines way too much. I mean its ok to ask for a new ref but don't be all whiny about it.

    You need to go back and do research on the rules for that fight and for that matter most championship fights.
