He took Smith out there with one shot. He is probably in the same league as the likes of Froch/Bute/Abraham in terms of one punch power
Froch isn't in the same league as Bute and Abraham in terms of one punch power. That shot was more about the timing and accuracy than George's power for me. Absolute beauty though.
Agree with Wallet. It was a sharp shot that Smith didn't see coming rather than proof that Groves is a world class banger.
I wouldnt go so far as to say it was a flukey type of shot though He packed a lot of power into the shot. The reaction in Smiths body was frightening If Degale landed the same type of shot on smith, I don't see Smith going down.
Groves doesn't have half the punching power of Bute don't be silly, he is though a very hard puncher for the level he is at
I think he hits hard, Hard enough to say he's a puncher and a very decent one at that. Not Julian Jackson though...
Very hard but not concussive, I seem to remember him catching Joe with quite a few good uppercuts but didnt put him down. You dont need to have one punch power though, Ive been in the ring with very heavy handed fighters that are slow because they are looking for that one big punch so you get hit and pawed off and then one big shot, trust me its hell when your in with someone who hits you hard constantly and tries to break you down
