Angulo gasses himself out

Na nobodies discrediting Kirkland he could of done the same mistake in gassing himself out plus credit for surviving that storm, but before Angulo gassed out sayin Kirkland was layin the smack on him aint completely true. The one sided beating began after Perro gassed out. His fault for gassing out, but some people sayin Angulo wasnt handling his speed or power thats bs. How was he able to floor James then? Angulo simply got overconfident.

 

come on Kirkland fought something like 6 fights that year Angulo had 2 rounds. That doesn't matter in the end great win for Kirkland

 

ya angulo deffo gassed himself out. but like many others said i dont think he trained properly for this fight. i think after the ishida fight angulo thought this guy was a cupcake with a glass chin and didnt train his ****in ass off like kirkland did. ima a big fan of both these guy . and in a rematch i think angulo actually wins but i dont wanna see a rematch i wanna see kirkland vs the winner of cintron v alvarez. which i hope its alvarez i dont really like cintron at all

 

Teddy Atlas likes to quote Cus D'Amato by saying that in a fight with two tough guys the fighter who fights smarter has the advantage. Wise words from the great boxing trainer that held true here. Angulo unintelligently gassed himself out early and Kirkland rode the storm out well by doing all the things I mentioned earlier. Props to Klirkland for not only being tough in the ring, but also for applying true ring smarts.

 

People who say he gassed after 1 round are reaching imo Angulo is a 12 round fighter who's never exhibited stamina problems yet for this fight an extended 90 second burst had him completey gassed? He just came up against someone who was better at his style than him an beat the fight out of him imo

Angulo looked intimidated to me.It also appeared he was slower and Kirk couldn't miss. Also Angulo even though he is Mexican no way in hell he can handle those kinds of punishment.The man is like a punching bag. James bludgeon him with everything he threw because angulo couldn't avoid those bombs.The kid slow.

 

He'd had just half a round in the 15 months before this fight though.

True that, and less than 2 rounds in over 16 months? :think I missed that, but Kirkland only had three fights that lasted 1 round, and two that lasted 2, since March. Angulo only had a 1:31 minute fight since July of 2010:bart

Kirkland was sparking Angulo out even before Angulos dumbass gassed himself out.

 

He did gas himself thought.. that's just the fact of the matter. Kirkland did well to finish the job, but that fight should have been over in the first round. If Angulo had taken his time and picked Kirkland off, it was over. But he didn't. He stood there throwing wild punches until he was gassed. He's an idiot, it's his own fault. But it doesn't change the fact that Kirkland has no defense and a weak chin. He'll give us plenty of entertainment, no doubt, but if he ever does enough to earn a fight with one of the top guys at the weight, he'll be destroyed.

 

well, definitely.....but the hbo crew already noticed that angulo had gassed himself out when kirkland landed those very heavy shots.
