Degale - Groves 2 will be interesting (spoilers inside)

Ive not been on ESB very long but early on (1st 5 fights) the boxing fans I know including me thought Groves seemed to be the better pro. I also thought DeGale would beat Groves & lost money on that fight.

I completely agree that DeGale was over-inflated after the Smith win but that didnt do him any favours. It just added extra freight to the hype train which came crashing off the rails soon enough.

I'm a big Groves fan but I wish that DeGale would change because he is a special & innately talented fighter who we may sadly never see the best of. I know you dont like him & even I find him annoying, but just imagine what he would be like if he knew how to punch.

 

I can see what you're saying but Groves is always going to be more suited to blowing somebody out of there with a big shot/combo than DeGale. DeGale embarrassed Smith, so did Groves. DeGale showed an impressive repertoire against Smith, Groves didn't exhibit the same speed or variety DeGale did against Smith, he didn't do it in his back yard either.

And yeah, I believe DeGale has the fundamentals, but he's very lazy, he can't iron out his mistakes because the people around him are telling him he doesn't have any. He showed in the Olympics exactly what he could do, but he turned into a very lazy fighter. :rasta

 

Alright, whatever... Groves didn't need to display variety - he took him out in two rounds.
