The principal point that I am trying to get across is that modern heavyweights are not inherantly better athletes than their predecessors.

Jeffries being similar to Chuvalo is a misconception.

They both had superior chins and fought out of a crouch, but that is where the similarity ends.

So the best athlete of the old age versus a specialised left hooker with little athletic ability. How about Ali versus Jeffries over the 100m, or Wlad against Jeffries in swimming, I know who I'm picking for both

Jeffries would have beaten Ali over the 100m if the claims made for his sprint times are even close to being true.

I don't know haow good Jeffries was at swimming, But he beats Joe Frazier if he can make it across the pool.

Jeffries wouldn't stand a chance against Ali over 100m, the difference in athleticism is night and day. When will all the Jefftards realise all the stories about him were bull****? And again I compared him to Wlad swimming, someone who can actually swim - swimming is very much a technique sport

Pretty sure Fraziers left hook is 100 times better than Jeffries who's gets his left hook laughed at on film. I don't think Jack Johnson would laugh at the current morbidly sick Frazier's left hook on film

Let me start out by saying that I am a big Joe Frazier fan. However, I think that Jefferies was a better all-around athlete and Joe was a better boxer. Jefferies moved incredibly well for a man of his size (220 lbs his prime). I know something of this issue being 320 lbs myself. Being that size makes moving hard, but if you keep up at it, you can move well.

The attached Youtube video shows jefferies training for the Ruhlin fight, and look at how quick he is doing footwork, and skipping rope. For a man that size to move like that requirs great athleticism.
