Anyone else feel that Katsidis should pack it in?

There signs were there against Guerrero he is fading.

 

How were there signs against Guerrero he was fading? To be honest Katsidis got beat up by a past it Casamayor so he was never good at dealing with lefties to begin with. Guerrero was just far too good, as was Burns last night to a slightly lesser extent. I saw nothing particularly wrong with Katsidis last night, speed was the same, took punches well, fitness was good, it was only technically he was lacking and thats not a recent problem. Technically he could not break down Burns when presented with the chances to do so.

However, the question has to be what the point in carrying on is. He's lost twice to guys stepping up in weight, can he really get it done at the level he aspires to be? The answer is a categorical no. So the only question then is does he need/want to fight for money and still love fighting itself? If so he could probably fight Lenny Zappaigna in Aus and achieve those ambitions.

 

Wow every time a fighter get beat comprehensively in his 30's people want him retired (on here)... If they did we wouldn't have Cotto, Margarito, Marquez, Kessler, Katsidis etc.

Hell no do I want him retired, he's a bloody entertaining boxer and as a boxing fan I want to see many more wars with him!

 

Kats is a warrior, can't see any way he will pack it in at the moment.

HE's still compus mentas and doesn't particuly look in danger in that respect (obviously what do I really know on this score?) and if he wants to fight I say let him.

 

Could he fight mundine, decent amount of weight difference between the two at the moment, I dont think Katsidis could gain over a stone to fight him tbh

 

I think Katsidis has a couple more fights with him but he should only carry on if he is desperate to do so, or if the money is too good to pass up. He takes a lot of punches and who knows what the long term effects might be?

Katsidis-Mitchell II would make a lot of sense for him; should be decent money and Mitchell doesn't hit hard enough to do long-term damage.

Needs a break (6 months) but he'll be back, would not be surprised to see him back in the UK maybe against someone a little easier, Murray, Rees or Crolla then maybe return with Mitchell.
