why do australia produce so few champions ?

    i mean we are a big country yet the likes of england produce far far more champions,what do you think this is down to ?

    They're all playing other sports, like cricket and competitive shrimp barbequeing

    because they arent good to begin with.

    Look at Kosta Tszyu, they claim him as their own but hes as Australian as Linares is Japanese.

    I don't know how it is in Australia but I assume boxing just isn't as big so not as many people train for boxing, thus fewer Australian boxers.

    Cuz they have sports like tuna fish throwing contests instead

    Most young fighters here with aspirations are leaning towards MMA - do you blame them given the potential opportunities they see via TV? - UFC/MMA always has something on Foxtel here whereas boxing has **** all.

    For one, the UK has almost 3 times as many citizens as Australia has. :deal
    The size of a country doesn't matter, the number of people more so. Why didn't you ask about India for an instance?

    And like said, the Aussies have other things on their mind as bashing eachothers head in wearing gloves.

    genetics.. most aussies are wimps and have glass jaws so they stick to stuff like Cricket

    i wouldnt say wimps just that most lack in skill and aussie fighters do seem to have glass jaws even our best fighter ever fenech was chinny,do you think thats in our genetics ?

    Do you even know how long some of them train and how hard it is to get to world level on a national sport like "Zamboni toss"?! :bart

    because rugby is so popular and everyone automatically goes into it

    same with soccer in brazil and england
